Uganda has officially confirmed participation in the upcoming expo 2027 Belgrade following the signing of the participation contract during the second international participants meeting held this week at the Savar center in Belgrade.
The Ugandan delegation was led by State Minister of Trade, Industry and Cooperatives, Gen. Wilson Mbadi, with Head of Administration at the Presidential Advisory Committee on Exports and Industrial Development, Mathew Bagonza, Uganda’s Ambassador to Italy Paula Napeyok, Commissioner of External Trade, Ministry of Trade David Katungi, and the Manager Export Development and Promotions at Uganda Freezone and Export Promotion Authority, Geraldine Kaganzi.
The signing of participation contract marks a critical milestone formally commiting Uganda to showcase it’s culture, investment opportunities, tourism potential and export capabilities. The exhibition scheduled for 2027 is expected to attract visitors from over 120 countries providing Uganda with a strategic platform to position it’s self as a competitive destination for trade and investment.
“Uganda approaches the Expo 2027 Belgrade with great optimism, enthusiasm and expectation. This event will serve as a powerful platform to build relationships, exchange knowledge and inspire innovation across nations and cultures” said General Wilson Mbadi.

Mbadi further added, “Uganda comes to Expo 2027 Belgrade with the goal of leveraging the opportunity to strengthen our integration into the global economy through trade, investment and a strong country brand, fostering effective global partnership and collaboration for social economic development and transformation. We look forward to humbly contribute to the global conversation on solutions to shared challenges particularly in line with the global agenda embodied in sustainable development goals and learning from experiences, innovations and ideas presented by other participating nations.”
On the sidelines of international participants meeting Gen. Wilson Mbadi held meetings with State Minister for Foreign and Domestic Trade of Serbia Jagoda Lazarevic and Dusan Kozatev, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Serbia with the purpose of deepening economic and trade cooperation and strengthening bilateral ties between the two countries.
