Police in Nansana have arrested four suspects in connection with a series of robberies targeting bank clients within the area.

According to the KMP deputy spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire, the suspects were apprehended during operations conducted between March 10 and March 14, 2026 as part of ongoing investigations into criminal attacks on individuals leaving banking halls with cash.

Owoyesigyire says that the suspects are alleged to have been waylaying bank clients shortly after withdrawing money and robbing them of cash and other valuables.

During interviews with investigators, the suspects reportedly confessed to participating in several robbery incidents, including attacks targeting bank clients around Base Hotel and other banking points within Nansana.

He explains that preliminary investigations further indicate that the suspects carried out the robberies while armed with pangas and relied on boda bodas to facilitate quick escape from the crime scenes.

Police say investigations are still ongoing to determine the full extent of the criminal network and to track down other accomplices who may still be at large.

Owoyesigyir has called on members of the public, particularly bank clients handling large sums of money, to remain vigilant and consider seeking police escorts or using safer means of transporting cash.
