The Makerere University NRM Chapter has today unveiled its Guild Presidential Candidate, Tebakor Jimmy Prince, ahead of April’s guild elections.
The chapter today, Thursday, presented Mr Tebakor to the NRM Deputy Secretary General, Rt Hon. Namayanja Rose Nsereko, at the party secretariat at plot 10, Kyadondo Road, after heated internal elections, according to the chapter chairman.

Namayanja, who was pleased to receive the NRM’s favourite candidate, commended the chapter members (university students) for accepting to rally behind the flag bearer.
“I am happy for the unprecedented unity and togetherness of consolidating all your support to the flag bearer,” Namayanja said as she discouraged party members from contesting as independents.
She also appreciated the efforts of all young people across the country for overwhelmingly electing President Yoweri Museveni: “Your contributions in the mobilisation and voting for the NRM is heartwarming to us.”

The Secretariat leadership pledged to continue supporting the Chapter to ensure victory. “Our role is to facilitate chapter activities and guide where necessary.”
Mr Tebakor assured the Secretariat and party members of an overwhelming victory come next month.
Also addressing the students, the Chairman of the National Youth Council, Hon. Daniel Ongom, echoed the call for unity and patriotism. He described Makerere University as a microcosm of the nation, stating that the leadership emerging from its halls often grows into national prominence.
“Makerere is Uganda summarized,” Ongom said. “Young leaders must promote patriotism, unity, and the message of wealth creation among their peers.”
