Hon Judith Nabakooba, the Minister of Lands, Housing and Urban Development has convened a high-level engagement with key stakeholders to assess Uganda’s readiness for sustainable urban development and strategic real estate investment promotion. This is in preparation for the forthcoming MIPIM(Le Marché International des Professionnels de l’Immobilier, also known as the  International Market for Real Estate Professionals)conference scheduled to take place this month in Cannes, France.

The preparatory meeting focused on, how to showcase Uganda’s urban transformation agenda, advancing sustainable city planning and green infrastructure, packaging bankable projects to attract global investors plus positioning Uganda as a competitive destination for responsible real estate investment.

MIPIM draws tens of thousands of attendees from across the world hence providing a strategic platform for countries to connect with global investors, developers, city leaders, and infrastructure partners. Uganda’s participation signals commitment to building resilient cities, enabling structured urban growth, and unlocking opportunities within our real estate and infrastructure sectors. Cannes presents an opportunity not just to showcase projects but to tell Uganda’s urban transformation story.

The engagement was attended by among others the Minister of State for Kampala, Hon. Kyofatogabye Kabuye.
