The National Resistance Movement (NRM) Presidential Candidate, Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, has pledged to establish an industrial park at Sango Bay in Kyotera District, alongside scaling up the ongoing palm oil project in the area.

Speaking during a campaign rally held at St. James Secondary School playgrounds in Kyotera District, Museveni said the district is earmarked for several development interventions under the NRM manifesto. He emphasized that the planned industrial park will create jobs and stimulate local economic growth through value addition and industrial development.

Museveni further announced plans to support coffee farmers in Kyotera District through the provision of fertilizers and irrigation schemes aimed at improving productivity and farmers’ incomes. He noted that the commitment is backed by the steady growth of Uganda’s coffee sector, with exports now valued at about USD 200 billion.

The NRM presidential candidate commended residents of Kyotera for embracing coffee farming and encouraged them to further strengthen their participation in commercial agriculture.

On infrastructure, Museveni confirmed plans to construct the Kagera Bridge linking the area to Nyangoma in Kyotera District, as well as tarmacking the Kyaka–Kasensero road.

He also highlighted several infrastructural developments already implemented in the district by the NRM government.

Addressing wealth creation, Museveni outlined various income-generating enterprises recommended under the NRM manifesto and advised residents to carefully select enterprises that best suit their local conditions.

He explained the evolution of the NRM government’s wealth creation initiatives, noting that they have delivered both qualitative and quantitative results over time.

Museveni reiterated that the NRM government’s core objective on wealth and job creation is to ensure the full participation of all Ugandan households in the economy, urging the people of Kyotera District to take advantage of the opportunities outlined in the manifesto.
