The National Resistance Movement (NRM) Presidential Candidate, Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, has concluded his campaign tour in the Busoga Sub-region with a firm appeal for continued public support toward the party’s long-term mission of advancing Uganda’s socio-economic transformation.
While addressing residents of Jinja City and communities across the wider Busoga Sub-region, Gen. Museveni underscored the seven major contributions of the NRM government as highlighted in the 2026–2031 manifesto. He noted that these accomplishments have firmly anchored Uganda’s development and established a strong foundation for sustained national progress.
He encouraged voters to grant the NRM another term in office to enable the consolidation and expansion of these gains.

In guiding urban dwellers on viable economic activities, Museveni urged them to engage in enterprises compatible with the realities of city life—particularly those within the skills and service sectors. He emphasized that urban-based income-generating activities will play a crucial role in boosting household wealth across Busoga.
The President elaborated on the NRM’s seven aspirations, explaining the party’s efforts and achievements in strengthening Uganda’s stability, development, and overall transformation. He further illustrated various wealth-creation ventures and offered communities practical guidance on how to implement these initiatives to increase family incomes.

A central highlight of his address was the 4-Acre Model, which he described as a proven and effective strategy for small landholders to generate sustainable wealth. He reassured the people of Busoga that the NRM is fully committed to implementing the objectives outlined for the forthcoming manifesto period.
Calling on local leaders, President Museveni urged them to improve planning and prioritization when executing development programs. He cited significant progress in social infrastructure, including the establishment of health facilities across all levels in both Jinja District and Jinja City, in addition to the presence of a fully operational Regional Referral Hospital.
Regarding road development, Gen. Museveni confirmed that funding is available to fast-track the construction of the Jinja–Budondo–Mbulamuti–Kamuli Road. He also promised the completion of maintenance works on the Jinja–Kampala Highway, noting that this will complement the other tarmac roads already serving the region.
He reaffirmed that Uganda’s enduring peace has provided the fundamental groundwork for economic growth and urged citizens to safeguard this stability as a prerequisite for continued national development.
The NRM candidate also emphasized the importance of ensuring equitable distribution of schools throughout Jinja District and Jinja City to expand access to education.
During the rally, former Vice President Dr. Specioza Wandira Kazibwe presented a regional status report that highlighted the achievements registered and areas that still require attention.
The First Deputy Prime Minister, Rebecca Alitwala Kadaga, also rallied the people of Jinja and the greater Busoga region to support candidate Museveni. She pointed to key development milestones already realized and stressed the importance of maintaining the region’s socio-economic transformation agenda.
