The Territorial Police at Katwe have arraigned four suspects before the Chief Magistrate’s Court in Makindye on charges of human sacrifice and manslaughter in connection with the death of 25-year-old Nalubwama Caroline.

The suspects, identified as Nalunga Daisy, Abaho Daphine, Nakato Naava, and Nambalirwa Joyce, appeared in court on Thursday, 13 November 2025.

They were remanded to Luzira Prison until December 18, 2025, by the Chief Magistrate Sarah Basemera. The suspects face seven counts, including human sacrifice, manslaughter, rash and negligent acts, possession of narcotics, conspiracy to commit a felony, and giving false information to police.

Prosecution alleges that on October 22, 2025, at Kyamula Zone in Makindye Division, Bryan White killed Carol Nalubwama for purposes linked to witchcraft or ritual activity, which is an offence under the Prevention and Prohibition of Human Sacrifice Act.

In an additional charge of manslaughter, the state accuses Kirumira  of unlawfully causing Nalubwama’s death by burning her and later transferring her to Kiruddu Hospital, where she died from the injuries between October 22 and 27, 2025.

Their arraignment follows ongoing investigations into the circumstances surrounding Nalubwama’s death, which investigators say occurred after she sustained severe burn injuries at the Munyonyo residence of city socialite  Kirumira Bryan, widely known as Bryan White.

Nalubwama later died at Kiruddu Hospital, prompting a multi-agency probe into possible criminal activity. According to Kampala Metropolitan Police Deputy PRO, ASP Luke Owoyesigyire, a fifth suspect,  Kirumira Bryan, remains under police guard as he receives medical treatment for injuries he reportedly sustained during the same incident.

Owoyesigyire confirmed that charges have been sanctioned against Bryan White as well, bringing the total number of suspects in the case to five.

Police say investigations into the matter are ongoing as detectives piece together evidence to establish the exact events that led to Nalubwama’s death.
