Kyadondo East Member of Parliament Robert Kyagulanyi also known as Bobi Wine has  been arrested after he defied Police guidelines on Kyarenga Extra Concerts.

Bobi Wine was set to hold his second edition of Kyarenga concert at his One Love, Busabaala Beach, but Police on Sunday halted the show saying it was not for the best interests of revelers since minimum crime mitigating measures had not been put in place by organisers.

The artiste however, defied the police directives and insisted on holding the concert. Bobi Wine was arrested by Police as he attempted to access the venue and later whisked away. Others who have been arrested include; Andrew Mukasa aka Bajjo Events and Abbey Musinguzi aka Abtex, the organisers of the concert. The two were arrested at the entrance of One Love Beach as they tried to access the venue.

Police Spokesperson Fred Enanga in his letter addressed to the Kyarenga organisers said that Police will not “risk securing its planned music concerts, due to their failure to adhere to the stricter safety guidelines and site infrastructure concerns at the selected venues.”

Enanga said that the previous Kyarenga concerts had poor track records that with characterized by multiple incidents, related to public nuisance due to overcrowding, thefts, violation of traffic rules and various misconducts, which were not only a breach of law, but also a danger to the revelers and the lives of other members of the community.
