The Head of the Indian Military Advisory and Training Team (IMATT), Brig. Gen. BS Fogat, along with his delegation, this afternoon paid a farewell visit to the Chief of Defence Forces (CDF), Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, as their two-year tour of duty in Uganda ends.

Gen. Kainerugaba commended the Indian team for their contributions to the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) during their tenure.

He also expressed gratitude for their dedicated support in enhancing training programs and strengthening bilateral military cooperation.

In response, Brig Gen Fogat thanked Gen Kainerugaba for the warm hospitality and collaborative engagement throughout their deployment. He highlighted the CDF’s hands-on involvement in advancing training standards within the UPDF.

As the outgoing Indian team which has been based at the Senior Command and Staff College (SCSC) in Kimaka prepares to depart, a new IMATT group is set to assume duties, ensuring the continuity of this partnership.
