In a heartwarming display of support for Ugandan sports, Hon. Betty Amongi has fulfilled her pledge to the National Motocross team (MX Cranes) ahead of the prestigious 2025 MXOAN event in Zimbabwe. The Minister for Gender, Labour and Development, Hon. Amongi, has demonstrated her commitment to nurturing talent in the country.
In a bid to ensure the team is well-prepared for the continental top-tier event in August, Hon. Amongi contributed a total of Shs 7 million to the team. According to the Federation of Motorsports Clubs in Uganda (FMU), the mother body for motorcycling, the MX ladies received Shs 5 million, while the select team received Shs 2 million. This financial boost will go a long way in enabling the team to fine-tune their skills and gain valuable experience ahead of the tournament.
