The outgoing Resident District Commissioner of Kikuube District Amlan Tumusiime has vowed to defeat his Political opponent Pius Wakabi in the forthcoming National Resistance Movement party primaries with over 70% due to his underhand methods of playing politics such as deception, blame game, name calling and glittering generalities in order to influence public opinion and get political support.

Tumusiime was speaking to different groups of people and supporters from Bugahya Constituency who had come to his home in Kijjungu to seek help as far as land issues are concerned and others from Nyakasinini who had come to receive cement and chairs promised to them by the Amlan. He bragged about his unwavering support from different subcounties such as Kitoba, Kyabigambire and Buhanika and many villages coupled with endorsements he keeps getting from local leaders and the church leaders.

Amlan made it clear how he is tired of hearing recurring lies from Wakabi and his camp accusing him of land grabbing yet he has no proof and he has never been implicated any where in land grabbing or got no court case of land grabbing. “Am going to defeat Pius by over 70% in primaries because of his lies against me, poor leadership skills and taking people of Bugahya Constituency for granted”, Tumusiime said.

As we approach the party primaries in NRM and other Political Parties, the political temperatures in Hoima specifically Bugahya Constituency is rising with over 5 candidates from different political formations and ideologies vying for one seat each promising wondrous works if elected into office in the forthcoming 2026 general elections . For the last two terms, Pius has been winning unopposed but this time the political playing field has drastically changed with the coming of Amlan Tumusiime, Clifford Tugume of the National Unity Platforms and other aspirants within the Constituency.
