President Yoweri Museveni has emphasized the importance of African countries working together to unlock the continent’s full tourism potential.

Museveni stated that no single African country can thrive alone in today’s interconnected tourism market.

This message was conveyed in a speech delivered by the Prime Minister of Uganda, Rt. Hon. Nabbanja Robinah, during the official opening of the Pearl of Africa Tourism Expo (POATE) 2025 at Speke Resort Munyonyo.

President Museveni noted that collaboration among African nations will create the synergies necessary to respond to global changes and build a resilient and inclusive tourism sector.

The Pearl of Africa Tourism Expo (POATE) is an annual event that showcases Uganda’s unique attractions and promotes the country as a premier destination for tourism investment, partnerships, and cultural exploration.

The event brings together tourism operators, travel agents, hospitality stakeholders, and investors from around the world, creating a platform to promote Uganda’s brand as “The Pearl of Africa.”

This year’s expo is being held under the theme Tourism and Sustainable Transformation.

The expo has attracted over 300 exhibitors from across Africa and around the globe.
