The Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) has officially released the key dates and fees structure for the registration of 2025 candidates sitting for the Primary Leaving Examination (PLE), Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE), and Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE).
According to a public notice issued by UNEB, normal registration will run from April to May 31, 2025. During this period, candidates will pay the following registration fees: PLE – UGX 34,000, UCE – UGX 164,000 and UACE – UGX 186,000.
Late registration will follow from June 1 to June 30, 2025, attracting a 50% surcharge for UCE and UACE candidates and a 100% surcharge for PLE. This will push the fees to: PLE – UGX 68,000, UCE – UGX 246,000 and UACE – UGX 279,000
The final window for registration, termed as “latest registration,” will run from July 1 to July 31, 2025. During this period, candidates will incur a 100% surcharge across all levels, bringing the fees to: PLE – UGX 68,000, UCE – UGX 328,000 and UACE – UGX 372,000.
UNEB has advised schools and candidates to complete registration within the normal period to avoid the additional costs associated with late and latest registration phases.
The board has also reminded stakeholders that registration is a critical requirement for participation in the national examinations and that all applications should be processed through the proper UNEB channels.
