The Anglican Church of Uganda’s Busoga Diocese has made history by appointing the Very Rev. Canon Dr. Joy Mukisa Isabirye as its first female dean since the diocese’s establishment in 1972.

Canon Dr. Isabirye brings a wealth of experience to her new role, having served in various capacities within the church, including as Assistant Vicar at Christ’s Cathedral Bugembe. The Busoga Diocese, headquartered at Christ’s Cathedral Bugembe in Jinja, has a rich history of spiritual growth and community development.
