Ethiopian Airlines Crash: Commissioner of Police Christine Alalo Confirmed Dead

Commissioner of Police Christine Alalo, serving under AMISOM has been confirmed dead following the Ethiopian Airlines jet crash yesterday.

Mr Simon Mulongo, Uganda’s Deputy Special Representative of the Chairperson of the African Union Commission for Somalia has confirmed that Alalo was aboard the ill-fated flight which left no survivors.

Mulongo said Alalo had earlier before the crash communicated to her driver, instructing him to go and pick her up at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) in Nairobi at 10 am. The ill-fated flight was scheduled to arrive at JKIA at 10:30 am on Sunday.

The Ethiopian Airlines jet crashed shortly after take-off from Addis Ababa, killing all people on board.149 passengers and eight crew members were believed to be on flight ET302 from the Ethiopian capital to Nairobi in Kenya.

The crash happened at 08.44 local time, six minutes after the months-old Boeing 737 Max-8 took off.
