The National Resistance Movement (NRM) candidate for the Kawempe North by-election, Faridah Nambi, has outlined her plans to uplift the constituency if elected to Parliament.
Speaking during a campaign tour, Nambi emphasized her commitment to lobbying for funds aimed at empowering women and youths, whom she described as the most affected by economic hardships and unemployment.
“I want to help my people access government programs to improve their incomes. During my visits to different zones, I have witnessed several challenges, including widespread poverty, heaps of garbage in residential areas, and many children out of school,” she stated.
Accompanied by the NRM’s Head of Mobilization, Hon. Rosemary Seninde, and a group of supporters, Nambi traversed Kanyanya quarters, Elisa, Kisalosalo, Nsooba, and Katale zones in Kyebando ward to rally voter support.
She also pledged to provide bursaries for underprivileged children, collaborate with local leaders to clean trenches and improve sanitation, as well as identify and nurture young talent in various sports disciplines.
Hon. Seninde urged voters to consider electing an NRM candidate, arguing that past representation by opposition leaders had not yielded tangible benefits for the constituency.
“I am very sure things will change. The over 20 years of opposition leadership in this area have not delivered any significant development. Instead of cooperating with the government to bring change, opposition MPs have spent their time in confrontation,” Seninde remarked.
She further assured voters that electing Nambi would bridge the gap between Kawempe North and the central government.
“The SEED Secondary Schools, hospitals, and financial support all come from the NRM government under President Museveni. You need an NRM leader to ensure these programs reach you effectively,” Seninde stated.
As the campaigns heat up, Nambi continues to present herself as the best candidate to connect Kawempe North to government development initiatives. Today she campaigns in Komamboga.
