CDF Urges Defense Advisers on Uganda’s Interests.
The Chief of Defense Forces and Senior Presidential Adviser for Special Operations, Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba, has emphasized the crucial role of Ugandan Defense Advisers in representing the country’s interests abroad.
Speaking at the annual Defense Advisers’ summit held at the Defense Intelligence and Security Headquarters in Mbuya, Gen Kainerugaba thanked the Uganda Peoples’ Defense Forces advisers and attachés for the work they are doing and urged them to continue prioritizing Uganda’s interests in their respective host countries.
The CDF reminded them of their crucial roles as representatives of the UPDF and Uganda in their countries of deployment. The three-day summit, aimed at orienting new Defense Advisers and updating existing ones on their roles, featured presentations from experts at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The closing session was also attended by senior military leaders, including the Chief of Joint Staff Maj. Gen. Jack Bakasumba, the Joint Staff Policy and Strategy, the Chief of Defense Intelligence and Security, Maj. Gen. James Birungi, and Maj. Gen. Bob Ogiki, among others.
