President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and also the National Chairman NRM party on Monday 6th January 2025, convened a high-level meeting with the party’s Secretariat leadership at his Rwakitura residence in Kiruhura District. The meeting was attended by key members of the NRM Secretariat, led by Secretary General Rt. Hon. Richard Todwong.

The meeting focused on critical issues aimed at strengthening the party’s operational efficiency and preparing for upcoming political activities. Among the key topics discussed were the digitization of the party register and the upcoming electoral roadmap, which are vital for ensuring effective party administration and coordination ahead of Uganda’s next general elections.

The digitization of the NRM register is part of the party’s broader strategy to modernize its membership management system, enhance transparency, and improve accessibility for party members. By leveraging technology, the NRM aims to streamline its operations and provide a more inclusive platform for members across the country.

During the discussions, President Museveni emphasized the importance of aligning the party’s activities with the needs of its members and the country at large. He assured the Secretariat that he would soon convene a Central Executive Committee (CEC) meeting to deliberate on the details of the digitization project and the electoral roadmap. The CEC, which serves as the highest decision-making organ of the party, will play a pivotal role in approving and guiding these initiatives.

Rt. Hon. Richard Todwong commended the President for his continued commitment to the NRM’s vision and strategic growth.

He noted that the proposed digitization of the party register would enhance data accuracy, reduce redundancies, and facilitate better communication with grassroots structures.

He also highlighted the importance of preparing a comprehensive electoral roadmap that addresses the aspirations of the party’s supporters.

The meeting underscored the NRM’s commitment to innovation and adaptability in its internal processes. With a focus on digitization, the party aims to position itself as a leader in political organization and governance in Uganda.

President Museveni’s meeting with the NRM Secretariat marks a significant step toward modernizing the party’s operations and ensuring its readiness for the electoral challenges ahead. As the party prepares for the Central Executive Committee meeting, members and supporters can expect further updates on the progress of these initiatives.

The NRM continues to demonstrate its dedication to maintaining its position as Uganda’s leading political organization by embracing technology and strategic planning.
