Uganda-UK Ties: Envoy Highlights Sandhurst Military Course as Crucial Aspect

The United Kingdom High Commissioner to Uganda, H.E Lisa Chesney, has hailed the historical relations between the United Kingdom and Uganda, expressing pride in being the custodian of these relations.

Having just completed her first month in the role, H.E. Chesney noted that she has received the warmest welcome of her diplomatic career in Uganda.

H.E Chesney highlighted the training of Ugandan officers at Sandhurst as one of the crucial aspects of the bilateral relationship between Uganda and the UK. She specifically thanked the Chief of Defence Forces (CDF), Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba, a Sandhurst graduate, for attending the ceremony celebrating King Charles III’s birthday celebrations.

The Thursday evening ceremony hosted at High Commissioner’s residence in Nakasero drew attendees, including ministers, military officers, dignitaries from various embassies and high commissions in Uganda, as well as leaders and members of civil society.
