Uganda Cranes to Feature Special FUFA 100th Anniversary Logo on Jerseys

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has approved the use of a special commemorative logo on the Uganda Cranes’ jerseys as part of celebrations marking the Federation of Uganda Football Associations’ (FUFA) 100th anniversary.

This move comes after FUFA officially requested permission from CAF to honor its centennial milestone by placing the logo on the national team’s kit.

FUFA spokesperson, Ahmed Hussein, confirmed that the special logo will be displayed on the chest of the Uganda Cranes’ jerseys, starting with their upcoming Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier against South Sudan on October 11, 2024, at the Mandela National Stadium, Namboole.

Hussein also clarified that the logo will be used exclusively during the remaining AFCON qualifiers, a fitting tribute to FUFA’s leadership in Ugandan football over the past century.

The FUFA 100th Anniversary logo was officially unveiled by FUFA President, Ssalongo Eng. Moses Magogo, during the association’s general assembly held at Maya Natural Resort on October 4, 2024. This symbolic addition to the Uganda Cranes’ jerseys will serve as a visual reminder of FUFA’s rich history and its contributions to the growth of football in Uganda.

As the Uganda Cranes prepare to take on South Sudan tomorrow, the debut of the logo will not only mark an important milestone for FUFA but also motivate the team in their quest to qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations.
