“We are also bringing services closer to people and would want all people to take this initiative seriously and register also children; we are also updating details for our young citizens who registered from schools or communities while they are at school and also providing services to all children who are not registered,” Mushabe said.
He emphasized that children still below the age of 16 who have not attained the national identification numbers should take this opportunity to update so that they can get the national IDs.
Mushabe added that the drive that will end on November 23, 2024, aims to enroll over 17.2 million unregistered citizens and renew the Nation IDs of 15.8 million Ugandans whose cards are set to expire by December 2025.
