Ministry of Health Official Held Over Theft of Government Drugs

Following news of the arrest of five people, including a local journalist’s wife, in Kampala on Thursday, a Police statement seen by the Nile Wires.

According to the statement, security agencies were notified of a group of people “who were buying government drugs illegally”.

Five people were arrested in the ensuing operation, says the missive signed off by Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson Patrick Onyango.

The five suspects are being held “on charges of illegal possession of classified drugs, contrary to Section 27(2) of the National Drugs Authority Cap. 206”.
