CAF Appoints Ugandan Referees for AFCON 2025 Qualifier Game
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has selected two Ugandan referees to officiate the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers match between Madagascar and Gambia, scheduled for October 11, 2024, in Casablanca, Morocco. Both teams are competing in Group A of the qualifiers.
Uganda’s Ali Sabila Chelangat will serve as the match’s central referee, with Ronald Katenya and Emmanuel Okudura assisting as linesmen. William Oloya has been appointed as the fourth official.
Meanwhile, Uganda, currently leading Group K, will face South Sudan on the same day in a crucial qualifier at Namboole Stadium, with a return leg slated for October 15 in Juba. Uganda tops its group with four points, having secured a win against Congo Brazzaville and a draw with South Africa.
The AFCON finals are set to take place in Morocco from December 21, 2025, to January 18, 2026.
