Dr. Kedrace Turyagyenda Takes Over as Ministry of Education PS

Dr. Kedrace Turyagyenda has officially taken up the position of Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Education and Sports.

Turyagenda’s appointment was on Monday announced by the First Lady and Minister of Education and Sports Mrs Janet Kataha Museveni. The Education Minister took to her official X platform to announce the new appointment.

“I congratulate Dr. Kedrace Turyagyenda on her appointment as the new Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Education. In welcoming her, I expressed confidence in the ministry’s ability to provide a secure and supportive learning environment for our students, despite challenges posed by the Red-Eye outbreak and recent cases of monkeypox.” She wrote

The seasoned educationist, renowned for her work in shaping Uganda’s education standards, succeeds the outgoing PS Lamaro Ketty in a pivotal moment for the sector.

Turyagyenda, who previously held the post of Director of Education Standards, is no stranger to the intricacies of the country’s education system. She has been at the forefront of policy implementation, focusing on improving teaching methods, school inspection protocols, and overall academic standards.

Her leadership has garnered praise for enhancing the relationship between the Ministry and key education stakeholders, such as UNEB and the NCDC.
