Samuel Tumusiime, 28, has been detained by the police for the brutal killing of his wife, Margrete Nabisinde, 35.
The tragic incident happened in Kyakosi village, Ssekanyonyi district.
According to Racheal Kawala, the Wamala Region police spokesperson, initial claims by Tumusiime suggested that the couple was involved in a vehicular accident during their return from a visit.
However, witnesses reported a different story. They observed a violent altercation between the couple, sparked by Tumusiime’s accusations that Nabisinde was ‘concealing’ his money. In a fit of rage, Tumusiime left the scene to drown his anger in a bar but returned later.
Kawala explains that the confrontation escalated tragically when Tumusiime seized a chair and struck Nabisinde with it, leading to her untimely death.
Kawala confirmed that Tumusiime is set to face murder charges for his actions.
