NWSC Announces Water Supply Interruption on September 13th
The National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) has informed its customers and the general public about scheduled water supply interruptions on Friday, September 13th, 2024, from 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
According to NWSC the disruption is due to a planned power shutdown by UMEME to improve power reliability at the Ggaba Power Station.
“This is to due to a planned power shutdown by the UMEME team, in a bid to improve power supply at the Ggaba Power Station. The works are designed to improve power reliability at the Station.” Reads part of the notice released on September 12, 2024
As a result, water supply will be affected in several areas, including Ggaba, Buziga, Kansanga, Munyonyo, Muyenga, Kampala CBD, Nansana, Matugga, Makerere, Kyengera, Nateete, Wankulukuku, Rubaga, Namirembe, Mengo, Kawempe, Bwaise, parts of Jinja road, Nakawa, Kyambogo, Namasuba, Najjanankumbi, Lubowa, Bombo road, and surrounding areas.
In a notice NWSC advises customers to store enough water and use it sparingly, as it may take time for the system to fully stabilize once the power works are completed.
