President Museveni Commends Speaker Tayebwa’s father for Prioritizing Education
President Yoweri Museveni yesterday attended a thanksgiving ceremony in honor of Mzee Daudi Bangirana’s 80th birthday and 48 years of marriage.
The event, held at the Rwakitandara Playground, was also attended by the family of Rt. Hon Deputy Speaker Thomas Tayebwa, several government officials, members of the business community, diplomats and the general public.
In his remarks, President Museveni praised Mzee Bangirana’s commitment to educating his children, citing them as exemplary citizens. He emphasized the importance of unity beyond religion and tribe for Uganda’s prosperity, highlighting the government’s prioritization of citizen-centered policies since 1986.
The President also addressed the need to ensure equal access to education by resolving the issue of fees in government schools. He encouraged the adoption of sustainable farming practices, specifically promoting the four-acre model of farming to boost wealth creation.
