In an intelligence led operation on July 17, 2024, a team of police officers from the Nateete Police Division arrested 63 suspects
The suspects were captured from parts of Kabojja zone A and B, arresting 40 suspects, and in Kabawo zone, arresting an additional 23 suspects.
Patrick Onyango, the Kampala Metropolitan spokesperson says among those apprehended was Wasswa, a known panga criminal, who was found among the 23 suspects in Kabawo.
The suspects are being charged with possession of opium and public nuisance. They are currently undergoing screening and will subsequently be fingerprinted and profiled. Their case files will be submitted to the State Attorney for review and legal advice.
The operation will be extended to other areas within the division as part of ongoing efforts to curb crime in the region.
