The President of the Republic of Uganda, His Excellency Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, has exercised his constitutional mandate and signed 19 Bills into law. The President assented to the Bills on Monday, 15th July 2024, at State Lodge, Nakasero.
Among the new laws include; Uganda Wildlife Authority Amendment Act 2024, Uganda Registration Services Bureau Amendment Act 2024, Registration of Persons Act 2024, Children’s Amendment Act 2024, Agricultural Chemical Amendment Act 2024, Value Added Tax Amendment 2024, Stamp Duty Amendment Act 2024,Tax Procedure’s Code Amendment 2024, Income Tax Amendment 2024, Physical Planning Amendment Act 2024, among others
The President has also returned two Bills to parliament including; ‘The National Commission for UNESCO Amendment Act 2024’ and ‘The Higher Education Students Financing Amendment Act 2024.
