Gen Saleh is one of the greatest commanders in Uganda’s history, says Gen Kainerugaba
The Senior Presidential Adviser for Special Operations Maj Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba has praised Gen Salim Saleh as one of the greatest commanders in Uganda’s military history.
Even among his peers, Gen Saleh is revered as one of the most fearless commanders of the bush war that overthrew Milton Obote’s regime.
Gen Kainerugaba used his twitter account to express his admiration for the bush war hero on Gen Saleh’s birthday on Monday (January 14).
“Happy birthday to RO 16 General Salim Saleh. One of the greatest commanders in our military’s history. May you have many more Afande.” Gen Kainerugaba tweeted.
Gen Saleh retired from the military and briefly served as an army MP, a minister and Presidential advisor on military affairs. He also headed an initiative to fight poverty among war veterans and former soldiers.
Currently, Gen Saleh is the national coordinator of the Operation Wealth Creation, a similar initiative aimed at defeating poverty and creating wealth among Ugandans.
OWC’s mission is to improve household incomes for poverty eradication, wealth creation and overall prosperity of Ugandans through facilitation of sustainable commercial agricultural production.
