Burna Boy Sets New Record with Highest-Grossing US Concert
In another remarkable achievement, Burna Boy has set a new record as the African artist with the highest-grossing concert in the United States.
According to Touring Data’s June 13, 2024 update, Burna Boy amassed $1.725 million in revenue during his ‘I Told Them’ tour at Washington’s Capital One Arena on March 7, 2024. This milestone surpasses his previous record set at Boston’s TD Garden.
Burna Boy’s latest accomplishment underscores his position as the foremost African artist globally, consistently achieving significant milestones. Earlier this year, he made history as the first African artist to perform at the Grammy main ceremony, sharing the stage with 21 Savage and Brandy for his hit ‘Sittin’ On Top Of The World’.
At the 66th Grammys, Burna Boy became the first Nigerian artist nominated outside global categories, recognized for Best Melodic Rap Performance with ‘Sittin’ On Top Of The World’.
His stellar 2024 continues with a notable appearance on the remix of Titom & Yuppe’s ‘Twala Bam’, contributing to its historic rise as the first South African-led song to top the TurnTable Top 100.
