15 Suspected Hardcore Criminals Arrested in Kampala Operation, Narcotics Seized
Police in Kampala have arrested 15 suspected hardcore criminals in an intelligence-led operation on Monday. The operation was carried out in the Nsawo Zone, Kyaliwajala Ward, Namugongo Division, Wakiso District.
ASP Luke Owoyesigyire, Deputy Public Relations Officer of the Kampala Metropolitan Police, says the arrested individuals include; Syino Michael, Katumba Ashraf alias Cobler (a notorious serial offender), Esere Hassan, Olowo Abeneko, Kasoma Emmanuel, Safari Yona, Bukenya Mudasiru, Mudu Salim, Sekandi Mustafa, Kikawa Stanley, Kabuye Ronald, Vumbi Enock, Nuwe John, Benjamin Sali, and Kyasanku Godfrey.
The operation led to the recovery of suspected narcotic substances and house-breaking implements.
He says the operations happened as preparations for the upcoming Martyrs Day celebrations are underway.
In a related development, the Central Police Station Kampala conducted an operation resulting in the recovery of several items of military and police wear. According to Owoyesigyire, the operation, which took place at approximately 11:00 AM on Monday.
The operation targeted shop no. 113B, Angel Plaza, Nabugabo Road, where the following items were confiscated: 571 pairs of assorted shoes,1 pair of army-like uniform,1 army jacket and 1 army mobile mattress.
These items were being sold illegally at the premises, which belong to an individual identified only as Agrey.
ASP Luke Owoyesigyire emphasized the significance of this operation in ensuring the security and safety of the community.
He stated, “This operation underscores our commitment to ensuring the security and safety of our community by preventing the unauthorized distribution of military and police attire.” He commended the diligence and swift action of the officers and intelligence team involved.
