This incident follows a string of attacks on Ugandans in the past two months.

Two weeks ago, a disturbing incident unfolded on Wavamuno Road in Munyonyo, where a Mozambican national fell victim to a violent assault. CCTV footage capturing the incident showed a pedestrian being viciously attacked and kicked by an unknown assailant, who then fled the scene on a motorcycle after stealing the victim’s phone.

Following a thorough investigation, operatives from the Flying Squad and Crime Intelligence managed to arrest the suspect, as confirmed by Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson Patrick Onyango.

This incident is just one among several disturbing attacks that have plagued the city in recent months. In another viral video from March 23, 2024, thugs were seen trailing a passenger on a boda boda until he reached his destination in Kabalagala. Upon stopping to pay the rider, the unsuspecting victim was ambushed by the assailants, who struck him on the head with a paver. In response to this heinous act, the police took swift action, resulting in the arrest of seven suspects and the incapacitation of one.

In addition to making arrests, the police also recovered a cache of stolen items, including 22 phones, pavers, knives, and burglary tools and one of the suspects was put out of action, according to Onyango.
