Government Launches Investigation into Leaked Official Documents
The government has embarked investigations into the increasing leaks of official state documents into the public realm.
The Minister for ICT and National Guidance, Dr Chris Baryomunsi told the press at media center in Kampala that government has started investigating who is leaking documents and information, especially from cabinet and other government offices.
Baryomunsi, who doubles as the government spokesperson, says Speaker of Parliament Anita Among, who pinned ministers for rumour-mongering and engaging in idle talk during cabinet, is proof that she was speaking out rumours also which was wrong.
This followed by letters from the President that were leaked recently, with State House having to disown one as “forged”.
“We are investigating this habit, I condemn it because it is improper. So we are following up to see whether ministers, public servants or any other people behind these leakages to be held accountable,” says Baryomunsi.
He further urged the public to desist from this vice and verify every information before taking it further.
