According to police reports, the arrest followed a complaint by one Mudebo Charles, who reported the theft of his cattle from Namba Me Village in Sironko District.
Mudebo provided crucial information that led the K9 Unit team, accompanied by their trained sniffer dog Berlin, to the scene of the crime.
At the location, Berlin was able to detect a scent from an abandoned jacket, and the pursuit led the team to trace a trail spanning approximately 1 kilometer, ending at Kasinde’s residence.
Upon conducting a thorough search of Kasinde’s premises, security operatives uncovered evidence included a panga knife bearing traces of hair from the stolen cattle and smoked meat suspected to be part of the stolen loot.
Kasinde’s wife when questioned revealed that her husband had brought the meat home.
Kasinde was arrested and is currently in police custody pending further investigations into the cattle theft case.
