President Museveni Urges Boda Boda Community to Embrace PDM, Emyooga

In a gathering held in Kaweweta, Nakaseke district, boda boda leaders from Kampala and Wakiso District met with the President  Yoweri Museveni.

They were encouraged engage in government programmes for wealth creation for all citizens, including those in diverse sectors such as the boda boda industry.

President Yoweri Museveni in his message to them emphasized three core missionsof the ruling National  Resistance Movement Party including: ensuring prosperity for all, maintaining strategic security, and fostering a spirit of “undugu” (brotherhood) to strengthen the nation.

The engagement aimed to encourage boda boda leaders to actively participate in government initiatives designed to uplift communities and alleviate poverty.

The leaders were encouraged to mobilize their peers to embrace key government programs like the Parish Development Model (PDM) and Emyooga, which are tailored to empower grassroots communities and facilitate wealth creation.

“I happy these boda boda leaders spent valuable time benefiting from the NRM’s gospel. l urge them to mobilise their colleagues to embrace the government programs: PDM, Emyooga, etc. to fight poverty and create wealth.” the president stated in his message

Expressing satisfaction with the turnout and engagement, the president commended the boda boda leaders for investing their time in understanding the NRM’s vision for economic empowerment.

He further acknowledged the efforts  of the Commissioner Hellen Seku for revitalizing the Patriotism Club, an initiative that had previously waned in participation. He said her inclusive approach has ensured that previously marginalized groups are actively involved in initiatives aimed at national development.

Boda boda leaders left the gathering with a renewed sense of purpose, eager to leverage government programs to drive economic progress within their communities.
