Rubanda District Officials Detained Over PDM Neglect Allegations
Fourteen parish chiefs and Community Development Officers (CDOs) in Rubanda district were apprehended yesterday for neglecting their duties regarding the Parish Development Model (PDM) program.
The arrests stemmed from reports indicating that these officials had failed to input beneficiary names and details into the Parish Development Model Information System (PDMIS) during the initial disbursement of the PDM revolving fund.
Rubanda’s Resident District Commissioner, Eric Ssewandigi, accused the detained officials of dereliction of duty, asserting that they would be brought before court for dismissal, paving the way for “patriotic Ugandans” dedicated to serving the community.
The arrested parish chiefs include Alfonsina Tumwakire (Kiyebe Parish), Dauda Kasajja (Ihanja Parish), Eric Sabiti (Butusi Ward), Atuhaire Sophan (Muruhinga Ward), Teodoro Bazarwagye (Kagunga Parish), Jackson Tumukwasibwe (Kishanje Parish), Andrew Nizeyimana (Kabere Parish), and Mike Kimamzi (Kashekyera Ward).
The apprehended Community Development Officers include Scarlet Kemigisha (Bubare Sub County), Hillary Byomuhangi (Habuhutu-Mugyera Town Council), Elias Ahimbisibwe (Bufundi Sub County), Andrew Naturinda (Muko Sub County), Kwesiga Howard (Ruhija Sub County), and Deus Bareke (Butare-Katojo Town Council).
