Former FDC Women’s League Spokesperson Eperu Dies

The deceased breathed her last at around 8:30 pm on Sunday

Sarah Eperu, the former spokesperson of the Women League of opposition party, Forum for Democratic Change (FDC), is dead, party announces.

“It is with heavy hearts that we announce the untimely passing of our comrade and dedicated member of the party, Hon. Sarah Eperu,” reads the party announcement in part.

Former FDC President, Dr. Kizza-Besigye posted on X formerly Twitter, “Just been given the very sad news of the passing of our veteran political activist Sarah Eperu- devastating.”

Details surrounding her death are still scanty but according to her son Emmanuel Eperu, the deceased breathed her last at around 8:30 pm on Sunday from LifeLink Hospital in Kyaliwajala where she was rushed after complaining of general body weakness.

Eperu served FDC in various positions as spokesperson of the Women’s League and, until her passing, as the Chairperson of the Kapir County Constituency Branch in Ngora District.

FDC says further details will be provided in due course as they honour her memory and contributions.
