Kisoro District Welcomes Minister Mateke with Gratitude

Kisoro district expressed gratitude towards President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni for entrusting their daughter with the Ministry of Defense and Veteran Affairs, as revealed by Dr. Philemon Mateke during a thanksgiving event welcoming Sarah Nyirabashitsi Mateke to the district.

The celebration, held at Kisoro town’s Mayors gardens, saw Dr. Mateke, also the district NRM chairman, urging Bafumbira to uphold their support for the NRM manifesto and projects.

He emphasized the importance of fighting corruption and demonstrating integrity in service, urging Sarah Mateke to lead by example as the Bafumbira prepare to vote NRM with full confidence.

In her address, Sarah Mateke expressed gratitude to her fellow Kisoro legislators and district leaders for their unwavering support for the NRM party and government programs.

She pledged to work diligently to defend the government and ensure the effective implementation of the NRM manifesto.

Minister Mateke highlighted concerns raised by the Batwa people about discrimination by the Bafumbira and urged local leadership to promote unity and inclusive development.

She emphasized the importance of educating all children, particularly in technical fields.

Kisoro Municipality Mayor Mr. Ndayana Richards commended Hon. Sarah Mateke for her achievements and encouraged her to persevere, expressing confidence in divine blessings.

Kisoro district LC 5 chairman Bizimana Abel pledged continued support for government programs and the newly appointed Minister, Sarah Mateke.
