LOP Ssenyonyi Urges Men to Lead the Fight Against HIV/AIDS
The Leader of the Opposition in Parliament, Joel Ssenyonyi, has called upon men to take the lead in the fight against HIV/AIDS. Ssenyonyi made these remarks during a meeting with the Katikkiro of Buganda, Charles Peter Mayiga, at Bulange Mango.
Accompanied by the NUP Secretary-General, Lewis Rubongoya, and a group of opposition MPs, Ssenyonyi pledged support of 21 million shillings towards the Kabaka Birthday Run, with the proceeds directed towards the fight against AIDS.
“We pledge to support the activities of the Buganda Kingdom because we are obedient subjects of the Kabaka,” Ssenyonyi stated.
Meanwhile, the Katikkiro of Buganda, Charles Peter Mayiga, emphasized that the Buganda Kingdom is inclusive of everyone regardless of their political affiliation.
“Kabaka is not only for Baganda but for all of Buganda because we are a nation,” the Katikkiro affirmed.
He also expressed gratitude to the Leader of the Opposition for his dedication to the development of the kingdom and commended his exemplary leadership.
