The Uganda Police Force has invited 5000 applicants to proceed to the second stage of its recruitment program aimed at selecting 2500 probationer police constables.
The announcement came from Fred Enanga, the Uganda Police spokesperson, during a press briefing on Monday, March 25, 2024.
Enanga also issued a cautionary note to the public, warning against fraudulent individuals exploiting the recruitment process to swindle innocent people out of large sums of money.
He stated that the recruitment process operates on the principles of fairness and merit, and urged applicants to refrain from engaging in bribery or attempts to influence the process through politicians, intermediaries, or police officers. He called on applicants to report instances of false promises or misconduct to the authorities for investigation.
The list of candidates selected for the next stage of recruitment was released towards the end of the previous week. All applicants are advised to verify their names at their respective District or Divisional Police Headquarters to ascertain their status for the upcoming stage.
Shortlisted candidates are required to participate in various assessments, including fitness tests, aptitude tests, oral interviews, and medical examinations.
Applicants are instructed to bring their original National Identity Cards and academic documents for verification. Once again, Enanga reiterated the zero-tolerance policy towards corruption or any form of undue influence in the recruitment process.
The interviews for the second stage will be conducted at different recruitment centers from [dates to be filled].
Enanga expressed gratitude to the initial pool of 17000 applicants for their interest in joining the Uganda Police Force and wished all participants success in the forthcoming stages of the recruitment program.
