Museveni’s Cabinet Shake-Up: Karamoja Affairs Minister Sacked, CDF Reassigned

President Yoweri Museveni has reshuffled his cabinet, making significant changes by replacing three ministers and introducing new faces.

Among those removed are the embattled Karamoja Affairs Minister, Mary Goretti Kitutu, and her Deputy, former veteran journalist Agnes Nandutu.

They have been replaced by Peter Lokeris and Nambozo Florence, respectively.

The duo was involved in the infamous iron sheets scandal with the former still undergoing trial at the Anti Corruption Court .

Another significant change is the reassignment of the Army Commander, CDF Gen. Wilson Mbasu Mbadi, who now serves as the State Minister for Cooperatives (Trade).

Additionally, Defence Minister Vincent Sempijja has been reassigned as a Senior Presidential Advisor, with his position filled by his Deputy, Jacob Oboth Oboth.

Notably, the changes include new appointees loyal to the PLU pressure group led by first son and Senior Presidential Advisor on Special Operations, Muhoozi Kainerugaba.

Notable additions from this group include Lillian Aber and Balaam Barugahara , who now holds the position of Minister of State for Gender, Labour, and Social Development, overseeing Youth and Children
