UPC Vows Vigilance for Fairness in Dokolo District By-Elections

The Uganda People’s Congress (UPC) has recommitted to ensuring that every vote is counted and protected in the Dokolo District Member of Parliament by-elections.

Arach Oyat Sharon, the UPC Spokesperson, reiterated to UPC voters to be vigilant and report any form of rigging to them.

“We have identified and trained our agents and observers to guard our votes at any cost.

On a serious note, we call upon all stakeholders; Independent Electoral Commission, Political Parties, Security agencies, and candidates to desist from any form of election malpractices, unlawful arrests, violence, ballot stuffing, among others,” said Oyat.

The Party President, Jimmy Akena, earlier warned and assured the people of Dokolo that they are in Dokolo to ensure that their candidate, Sarah Aguti Nyangkori, wins the by-elections.

‘We have come here for serious business to win the Dokolo by-election on Thursday 21st March 2024. I can assure you that your vote will be protected. I am not leaving Dokolo until the last vote is cast, counted, and declared. If anyone has any tricks for rigging, they are going to meet Akena here!’, said Akena.

Arach Oyat Sharon also demanded free, fair, and peaceful elections, urging all members of Dokolo to rise early tomorrow, Thursday, line up, and vote for UPC Candidate Sarah Aguti Nyangkori as the next District Woman Member of Parliament for Dokolo.

“We assure you that the Victory is ours and every vote will be counted for better service delivery and development of Dokolo District.”
