NRM SG Todwong Declares Successful Membership Register Update Nationwide

The Secretary-General of the NRM, Richard Todwong, has announced the successful conclusion of the party’s membership register update exercise nationwide. The 5-day event, which concluded on Sunday, the 17th of March, commenced on Wednesday, the 13th, spanning all 72,000 villages/branches.

“I have personally overseen the display and updating of our membership register, and I am pleased to confirm its peaceful conclusion, albeit with a few minor concerns,” stated Todwong.

Todwong further disclosed that the updated ‘Yellow Books’ would undergo a comprehensive review at zonal centers before being input into the digital database. In areas where turnout was low, Todwong assured, “The party leadership will assess the process and provide guidance.”

Assuring members, especially students currently in school, Todwong mentioned that there would be another registration opportunity during the holidays before “we proceed to prepare for internal elections.”

He extended gratitude to NRM members and the general public for their active participation, stating, “This indicates that the NRM remains highly popular.”

The NRM National Chairman and President, Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, inaugurated the register update on February 28, 2024.
