Public Service Revises Validation Schedule for Civil Officers
The Ministry of Public Service is alarmed by the unexpectedly high turnout of public officers for the validation exercise compared to the initially projected numbers. This surge is attributed to the recruitment of new employees conducted after the validation exercise by the Office of the Auditor General.
Starting Monday, the ministry initiated a second validation exercise for public officers who either partially participated or missed the initial validation exercise held at the close of last year.
Catherine Bitarakwate, the permanent secretary, stated that the ministry was compelled to revise the validation schedules to prevent any spillover from the previously released schedule.
Savia Nampandu, the principal communication officer at the ministry, explained that the revision of registration would result in a few public servants being accommodated at specific times and locations. “There are days where more districts were scheduled than others, and some numbers are overflowing to subsequent days due to various reasons,” she said.
Nampandu highlighted the necessity of required documentation, noting instances where public servants lacked all the necessary paperwork. Those without the required documentation would be attended to on the following day, leading to an increase in the number of people for that day.
“So, the revision aims to accommodate a few individuals and manage the backlog for that day,” Nampandu clarified.
