Seven Suspects Arrested over Viscous Killing of Ndiga Clan Head
Police have arrested seven suspects in connection with the violent shooting the Nidga clan leader Engineer Daniel Bbosa.
Eng. Bbosa was killed on February 25, 2024, around 6:00 pm, in Lungujja Parish on his way home to his residence in Kikandwa zone. Armed assailants riding on a motorcycle opened fire on the clan leader, killing him on the spot.
Among suspects arrested is Milly Naluwenda of Kisekwa Court, Lujja Noah who is currently hospitalized under guard, however, the identities of the other five suspects have been withheld pending legal guidance from the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).
According to the police spokesperson Fred Enanga, the suspects are believed to have participated in the plot to murder Bbosa, along with other perpetrators who remain on the run and have also been linked to previous murders.
Enanga adds that details of the planned meetings, acquisition of weapons, hiring of assailants, and execution of the murder will be released in due course.
The police spokesman further announced a Shs10 million reward for information leading to the arrest of one Lujja Bbosa Tabula, the prime suspect in the killing of former Eng. Bbosa. Tabula, 38, allegedly orchestrated the violent murder. Enanga also warned against harboring the suspect, threatening charges for aiding a criminal.
“A substantial cash reward of Ugx 10m awaits any member of the public who avails us credible information that can lead to his arrest,” said Enanga
President Museveni on Monday honored a civilian identified as Abdul Katabazi, who helped capture Ndiga clan head’s killers, with a Nalubaale Medal, commending his bravery.
Museveni pledged to recognize and support other boda boda men involved in capturing the assassins.
The late Engineer Daniel Bbosa was laid to rest at the Ndiga Clan burial grounds in Mbale village, Mpigi Town Council, on March 3, 2024, at approximately 1:00 pm. The burial ceremony was successfully policed by territorial teams in the Katonga region.
