Man Kills Wife For Denying Him Conjugal Rights
Relatives to a 23 year old woman killed by husband have threatened to lynch him if justice is not served.
The deceased Chandiru Judith, a resident of Obaru cell, Ombokolo ward, in Ayivu East in West Nile Region was killed on March 01st 2024 by Agunda James, a 48 year old, peasant during a heated argument.
Agunda is currently in custody at Ayivu East CPS.
Locals allege that on that fateful night, the couple was heard quarreling after Agunda returned home late and demanded to have sexual intecourse with his wife.
They allege that the woman refused to concede to her husband’s demands because she suspected he was having an extra marital affair and feared for her safety and health.
According to Fred Enanga the uganda police spokesman, preliminary findings suggest the couple has been sharing their marital bed but without having the sacred act over the same allegations that Agunda was having multiple sexual affairs.
He explains that during the verbal exchange, Chandiru left the bed for Agunda and proceeded to lay on another mattress on the ground. In a fit of rage, the husband hit her in the stomach area causing her to collapse immediately.
“He followed and grabbed her, then hit her around the ribs. The victim fell down on the floor and succumbed to the injuries.” He reveals
Enanga adda that Agunda handed himself over to the police after the act. The body of the victim was examined, and handed over to the relatives for burial. The relatives have threatened to lynch the suspect if he is granted freedom .
