A military helicopter has crashed in Kabarole District, resulting in one confirmed death.
The incident occurred on Tuesday at 2:30 pm in Nyamisingiri village, Bwanika parish, Kichwamba sub-county. The helicopter, en route to DR Congo from Ssaka Airfield, hit the roofs of two houses before crashing into flames.
The victim, identified as Mukidi, died instantly as the helicopter crashed into his house.
Maj Naboth Mugisha, the UPDF Air Force Spokesperson, stated that the crash was an accident but did not provide details about the helicopter’s occupants.
UPDF soldiers have secured the crash site to prevent onlookers from approaching.
