Security operatives in Kakumiro have netted three suspects for butchering and murdering a 22- year -old man under unclear circumstances.
The deceased identified as Tadeo Tukundane a local from Betania village in Kagoma parish, Kikoora sub-county in Kakumiro district was cut repeatedly on his head and neck at about 11pm on Christmas day and left bleeding profusely on the ground, until Good Samaritans transported him to hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
Tukundane reportedly died on arrival Kikoora Community Medical Center on that fateful day. His suspected killers include; Isaya Kyamagelo 20, Jimmy Ninzeyimana 20, and Sowali Menya 31, all residents of Betania village in Kagoma parish, Kikoora sub-county in Kakumiro district.
According to the deceased’s family members he was last seen together with the three suspects on December 25th, 2023.
Julius Hakiza, the Albertine region police spokesperson says, the three suspects are currently being detained at Kakumiro police station on murder charges.
