Gunman Clad in Military Attire Shoots Three Civilians in Robbery Incident

Police in Oyam district are investigating a fatal shooting incident involving an armed robber clad in military attire.

The incident happened in Loro Town Council at a hardware shop on Tuesday night. It is alleged that the unidentified assailant stormed the business premises with a gun and ordered the shop attendant to release all money in his care.

In the process, the attendant attempted to flee the shop to the next room, causing the armed robber to randomly open fire, in the process injuring passers by, as he exited the shop in panic. The shop attendant identified as Obongo claims the suspect went away with 65,000 shillings only.

Among the injured include Kizito Isaac Okola,19, a boda boda rider called Innocent Obwol,25,  and PTE Emmanuel Okello, a UPDF soldier.

The victims who remain in a critical state are currently receiving medication at St. John XXIII Hospital Aber.

According to Patrick Jimmy Okema, the North Kyoga Regional Police Spokesperson, they have launched a hunt for the suspect. He says the attack was planned and not a random robbery incident.

Okema says police officers visited the crime scene and recovered four cartridges and one live ammunition.
